TheNetwork for Consumer protection in collaboration with USAID has implemented a project “Pay Income Tax”. The aim was to create awareness among general public regarding importance of income tax and its role in development. FDGs and in-depth interviews of the various stakeholders including journalists, business leaders and tax experts were conducted to identify the causes of low income tax collection and lack of interest to pay their due share by the general public.

Capacity building workshops for journalists and CSOs were also conducted to sensitize them on the issue and complaint process in FBR. A helpline was established at TheNetwork to facilitate and guide general public about income tax and how they will be benefited from filing the tax returns.
